Foundation Intern - Prospect Research & Analytics

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Prospect Research Intern are to support effective identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects. The intern also updates the status and coding for constituents, portfolios, and proposals, and supports other tasks as needed related to prospect research and management. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has been 100 percent dedicated to kids for more than 100 years. EDUCATION

 

College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required.

EXPERIENCE*
  • Research area: research experience necessary either through previous internship, work experience, or course work; practical knowledge about the conduct of research principals required

  • Able to travel throughout expanded metro Atlanta area; Must provide reliable transportation, if applicable to internship

Clinical Focus:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology useful
  • Knowledge of basic statistical software useful
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Perform regular monitoring and clean-up activities to ensure the accuracy and usage of the Raiser's Edge database to support all prospect management activity, including planned giving, major gifts, proposal tracking, cultivation stage tracking, and prospect research data inclusion.
  2. Review news and business publications for new/updated constituent information, business developments and economic trends; disseminate to key stakeholders as appropriate.
  3. Conduct basic research and compile information on individuals, corporations and foundations by utilizing various internal, reference and online resources.
  4. Assist teammates as needed to meet the prospect identification and research needs of specifically-assigned relationship managers or program areas.
  5. Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times. Uphold Foundation and System policies regarding confidential information. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines of both Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
