Manages team and provides strategic direction and quality oversight for database program, ensuring all departmental needs are addressed. Manages all database issues, including upgrades, vendors, and regular national changes of address, routine clean-up, and coding. Ensure the highest integrity of the Foundation’s donor data. Maintains opt-out preferences as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.


  • Bachelor’s degree


  • No professional certifications required


  • 5 years of experience in  database management
  • 5 years of experience in Raiser’s Edge, including advanced user ability of query writing, data extraction, custom report writing, importing, and generating exports


  • Experience with NetCommunity, Sphere, and Omatic tools


  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, and other report-generating programs
  • Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills

  1. Oversees all aspects of the data management functions for the Foundation, ensuring the highest integrity of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta donor data.
  2. Manages reporting processes and audit function to monitor and ensure data integrity and uniformity of constituent and participant data. 
  3. Plans and develops the business strategy, including design, identification and implementation of systems/process improvements regarding constituent, event, membership, job, appeals, and participant records.
  4. Oversees all business documentation processes and protocols and may be consulted to assist in same capacity with regards to gift records and prospect tab planning.
  5. Creates, edits, and deletes database attributes, code tables and business rules within system configuration module.
  6. Ensures compliance of all responsible areas with internal policies and procedures and all regulatory agency requirements and standards affecting the database as needed. 
  7. Develops security levels of the database for internal and external users and works with Financial Systems to ensure these users and groups are maintained. 
  8. Works collaboratively with Manager, Financial Information Systems to ensure that the database is working properly and meets the needs of the department.
  9. Maintains professional development and technical competency.
  10. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  11. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  12. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
