Behavior and Mental Health
We know that behavioral and mental health are key to a child's overall well-being. From our Marcus Autism Center, one of the largest autism centers in the U.S., to our multidisciplinary feeding program, we’re committed to addressing the growing demand for services to manage these conditions. We want to make Georgia a national leader in pediatric behavioral and mental healthcare.

Dental and Orthodontics
The pediatric dentistry and orthodontics team is specially trained to treat pediatric patients, including those with complex medical conditions and special healthcare needs.
laboratory services
Laboratory Services
Our department of pathology and laboratory medicine is nationally accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Georgia Department of Community Health. Specially trained to work with babies, kids and teens, our laboratory services team is capable of running a wide range of tests to help treat kids in our care.

Nutrition
We are home to one of the leading pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition programs in the country, with nutritionists dedicated to providing comprehensive nutritional services and education to meet the needs of our patients.

Our team of patient safety supporters, emergency department technicians, medical assistants and patient care technicians provide crucial patient care services across our System. 
pharmacy
Pharmacy
Our pharmacists provide 24-hour-a-day, on-call services to manage dosing of critical medications for our patients. This includes pharmacokinetics, nutritional support, investigational drug study support and participation on rounds with a variety of medical teams. We are actively involved in training pharmacy students from local colleges of pharmacy, and the department has three Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited pharmacy residency programs: two are PGY-1 in general pediatrics and one is a PGY-2 specializing in transplant services.

Radiology Services
Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), Children’s has one of the largest pediatric radiology programs in the country, performing more than 300,000 imaging tests each year. This high volume allows our radiology team to see a wide range of cases, resulting in greater diagnostic accuracy for children.
rehabilitation
Rehabilitation
Our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists and athletic trainers provide pediatric rehabilitation services to children and teens with impairments due to illnesses, injuries, congenital defects and other conditions. We are the only program in Georgia with a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)-accredited pediatric specialty program.

Through our partnerships with Emory University (ranked No. 1 nationally in NIH funding for pediatric departments), Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we actively participate in groundbreaking clinical studies aimed to advance pediatric medicine and transform the way we care for kids and teens.

Respiratory Care
As a respiratory therapist, respiratory technician or pulmonary function technician, you’ll join more than 300 dedicated respiratory care practitioners who provide our patients with the latest and most technologically advanced treatments available. We exemplify best practices in the profession and have been awarded the 2023-2024 Apex Recognition Award by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

Surgical Services
Two of our hospitals, Scottish Rite and Egleston, were verified in 2020 as Level I Children’s Surgery Centers by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Children’s Surgery Verification (CSV) Quality Improvement Program. Children’s is the first facility in the state of Georgia to earn Level 1 Children’s Surgery Verification status from the ACS, which is the highest designation. Children’s manages more than 43,000 surgical procedures annually, with support from a skilled team who provide comprehensive care to patients.

Social, Emotional, Spiritual Support
Our patients and their families have basic and extraordinary mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs during their hospital stay or visit, and we have many services available to support them. Our team includes child life specialists, chaplains, social workers and behavioral and mental health providers.
Transport
Transport
We offer ground support with one specialty Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) truck, as well as four Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) trucks, which provide neonatal and pediatric specialty care services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Air support is provided by Children’s One, which has the capability to complete scene calls in addition to interfacility transports.

To support new graduate clinicians, Children’s helps bridge the gap between academic education and professional practice through training and resources like our Respiratory Therapy Residency Program. Additionally, experienced clinicians transitioning to pediatrics will receive hands-on training, specialty-specific education and other tools to help them find success in their new role.
Supporting Your Development We encourage learning and support your continued development by offering educational assistance and a dedicated Career Center, which offers one-on-one sessions with certified career coaches.
Building a Collaborative Culture Our team holds monthly multidisciplinary forums, where you’ll get insight from fellow clinical caregivers on how to navigate the social and emotional challenges associated with patient care.
