JOB SUMMARY

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a Citrix Admin to join our permanent team.  The CItrix Admin will have a broad skillset in a multitude of service lanes, including windows server and desktop management, as well as the Citrix XenApp Suite of Applications, the Citrix Administrator is an integral part of the design, deployment, and daily management of a successful virtualized application environment.

EDUCATION
  • High School degree required or equivalent
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • CCA /Citrix Certified Administrator or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification in a Windows server operating system
EXPERIENCE*
  • 8 years related experience including 3 years’ experience in a desktop support or direct support helpdesk position and 5 years’ experience in application delivery services including Hypervisors (VMWare 5.X, 6.X), Windows Operating Systems, Citrix XenApp 6.X, 7.X, Applications, and Patch Management
  • Maintain minimum certifications as applicable to the position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Associates degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • Experience with network administration using Active Directory Group Policy Objects as well as systems administration preferred
  • CCAA preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare setting preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative, executive staff and patient care systems users

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Provides Application installation and troubleshooting of Citrix XenApp suite of products, such as provisioning server, desktop delivery control, virtual desktop images/target devices.
  2. Provides extensive troubleshooting in installation and configuration of Windows Operating Systems; Disk Configuration and Installation and Configuration of Active Directory Group Policy; Systems Back-up and Recovery; Windows Performance Tuning and Windows Server troubleshooting.
  3. Responsible for implementation of Citrix environment GPOs.
  4. Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for XenApp environment.
  5. Evaluates hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and related equipment.
  6. Participates in the development and implementation of Citrix-related operational procedures and standards.
  7. Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  8. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  9. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
  10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  11. Manage XenApp desktop image builds and maintenance with proper change management.
  12. Provides support for Citrix printing.
  13. Deploys Citrix VM’s as needed.
  14. Manages, supports and optimizes desktop management and delivery applications/software.
  15. Maintains a highly available and disaster recovery configuration including monthly testing.
  16. Maintains and standardizes Citrix images.
  17. Patches environments monthly meeting department goals.
  18. Builds, implements and supports virtual desktop infrastructures meeting organization standards.
  19. Monitors Citrix farm resources and take actions as needed.
  20. Participates in special projects as required.
  21. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
