Plans, administers, and coordinates all operations in order to achieve and maintain clinical quality and patient/family customer service satisfaction and safety in outpatient settings only. 


  • High school diploma


  • No professional certifications required


  • 4 years of experience in business operations
  • 2 years of experience in supervision or management


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • Healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology may be preferred for some areas


  • Strong customer service focus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and time management skills
  • Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with attention to detail
  • Personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other Windows-based applications
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment (required in clinical areas)


  1. Partners with Assistant Nurse Manager to oversee daily operations of the location, ensuring that staff and processes are in place to meet the needs of patients and the financial, customer service, and quality goals of the location.
  2. Monitors quality, productivity, and efficiency of each operational area, recommends corrective actions as needed, and oversees implementation under guidance of practice manager or Manager, Clinical Operations.
  3. Resolves all staff/provider and/or patient and family concerns during operating hours.
  4. Manages registration, charge entry, and denial related functions (revenue cycle) and works with physician practice Business Operations Coordinator and/or Practice Manager to ensure timely revenue cycle function.
  5. Maintains positive working relationships with all physicians and acts as a liaison/resource between practice and system services offered within facility.
  6. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  7. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  8. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
