Wellness Program Coordinator

Coordinates and implements wellness programs to meet the needs of select populations (e.g., employees, children, physicians), working in partnership with department leaders. May coordinate and manage volunteers and interns, as well as partner with professional community organizations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Behavioral Health, or related field


  • No professional certifications required


  • 3 years of experience in related field

  • Knowledgeable about principles and practices of health promotion, disease management, and wellness program evaluation
  • Competent using analytical, statistical, reporting, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to manage time and multiple assignments, shift priorities, and work independently and within teams
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook


  1. Plans, implements, and evaluates wellness programs.
  2. Coordinates with key partners on programs, projects, and initiatives.
  3. Conducts surveys and focus groups.
  4. Tracks program participation and effectiveness.
  5. Provides program data analysis reports and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  6. Helps process invoices, maintain budget spreadsheets, and reconcile monthly transaction reports.
  7. Responds to customer inquiries and issues.
  8. Helps develop and distribute communication tools to promote programs and events.
  9. Participates in wellness events.
  10. May coordinate health fairs (e.g., scheduling presenters and classes).
  11. May troubleshoot database technical issues and workflow processes (e.g., creating and editing reports, documents, and queries).


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
