Unified Endpoint Engineering Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY

The IS&T Unified Endpoint Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing and supporting the organization’s Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) strategy, including developing strategies specifically for the modern management of endpoints, applications and the automation within the unified endpoint management platform to increase efficiencies and decrease delivery time. The Team Lead will coach and mentor members of the team in any aspect of their strategic and/or operational roles while assisting team members with project and task deliverables, highlighting areas that require attention. This role will have responsibility for platform/endpoint software upgrades to support patching, compliance and application delivery and will be responsible for all aspects of release and change manage for applicable systems. The Unified Endpoint Engineering Team Lead will provide technical guidance to project teams, ensuring new initiatives have endpoint dependencies and configuration management needs appropriately enabled and will work to build, leverage and maintain effective partnerships across the technical and business community. 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, plus seven years of experience in Technology is preferred 
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and five years of work experience in Technology

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) – Preferred 
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) – Preferred 
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) – Preferred 

EXPERIENCE*

  • Seven years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a technical lead preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred
  • Experience configuring solutions in support of M365 initiatives 
  • Experience with thin client device management  
  • Experience in developing and supporting VDI frameworks
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, specifically Epic 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft SCCM, Intune, M365, as well as Microsoft operating systems. Experience with other MDM/MAM solutions, such as Workspace One and Jamf would be highly desirable
  • Working knowledge with AD/ Azure AD and core networking fundamentals
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can work closely with both technical and management teams across the organization 
  • Foundational IT Infrastructure knowledge 
  • Operating Systems (Win10, macOS, iOS, Android) 
  • PXE boot and WOL technologies and Hand Free device management 
  • Ability to research, recommend and pilot tools and process changes in order to drive quality and efficiency across the solution development lifecycle
  • Technology advancement mindset specifically around BYOD strategies 
  • Familiar with monitoring tools that provide user benchmarks and baseline helping drive optimization opportunities 
  • Act as a thought leader on Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) industry trends on emerging cloud-enabled system management capabilities for potential use at Children's 
  • Multi-tasks and prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Lead a team of engineers in the development and support of the organization's Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) strategy 
    • Develop strategies for modern management of endpoints and applications
    • Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects.
    • Develop automation within the unified endpoint management platform to increase efficiencies and decrease delivery time
  2. Coach and mentor the less senior members of the team in any aspect of their strategic and operational roles
    • Assist Team members with project and task deliverables, highlighting areas requiring attention
  3. Responsible for platform software upgrades to support patching/compliance, application delivery, etc.
  4. Responsible for all aspects of release and change management for applicable platforms
    • Assist Team members with problem management, investigation, resolution, and root cause analysis
  5. Provide technical guidance to project teams ensuring that new initiatives that have endpoint dependencies or configuration management needs are appropriately enabled
  6. Builds, leverages, and maintains effective partnerships across technical and business community
    • Accountable for working with Business Partners, IT Security, IT Infrastructure , and compliance teams to ensure the solution meets all policy and regulatory requirements

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
