Senior Trainer

Develops and facilitates development programs for staff, managers, and leaders, including core classes. Conducts needs analysis to identify needed skills and competencies. Consults with leaders on team and individual challenges and develops and/or recommends training or other organization development solutions to enhance skills and performance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Education, Communications, or related field


  • No professional certifications required


  • 5 years of experience in training facilitation and development
  • Proven experience in facilitating classes and group discussion leading to learning application and performance
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects from start to finish, including stakeholder management


  • Certifications in leadership and professional development training curriculums (DiSC assessment, MBTI, Situational Leadership, Covey, Vital Smarts)


• Proven ability to design and implement high-impact learning content and support materials
• Proven ability coordinating programs with multiple deliverables and deadlines
• Demonstrates mastery of training content delivery with customized and certified content
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing value-added and comprehensive training plans and tools


1. Delivers needs analysis to determine skills gaps and identify training, team, or organization needs.
2. Partners with instructional designers to develop/update course content.
3. Facilitates classes and group discussion that leads to learning application and performance. 
4. Coordinates training efforts with other trainers on the team.
5. Develops instructional materials (e.g., participant guides, demonstration models, visual aids) for classes that support identified learning objectives.
6. Creates and delivers targeted team or area solutions that support the development goals for the team.
7. Provides consultation to participants and leaders on effective use of skills (when applicable).
8. Participates in continuous improvement efforts which result in improvement of desired outcomes.
9. Provides feedback to participants and leadership team on effective use of skills, when applicable.
10. Utilizes a variety of delivery training methods to promote learning transfer and keep training programs relevant and engaging to audience.
11. Builds and sustains working relationships with leaders and subject matter experts.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
