JOB SUMMARY

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is growing and hiring a Senior Applications Analyst to be a permanent member to the team. The Sr. Applications Analyst supports all non-clinical departments.  Experience troubleshooting and working as an analyst supporting Lawson or SAP Success Factors is highly preferred.  The Sr. Applications Analyst proactively provides strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for application and implementation support, technology consultation, and operational support to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta non-clinical user community.  Be the liaison between various operational business partners, IS&T, and vendors, and advocate for users' needs.  Advise and mentor Applications Analysts by providing expert knowledge in Applications support.  Proactively support the efforts and services which ensure integrity of data within the department and the delivery of safe patient care, and to promote a safe environment at Children's.

EDUCATION

  • College degree in operationally related area or equivalent experience
     

EXPERIENCE*

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with supporting all non-clinical business systems relating to Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Absence Management
  • Experience in leading complex projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  •         Infor/Lawson S3, ERP or SAP Success Factors highly preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Business partner with non-clinical departments
    1. Proactively establish and lead routine meetings with department heads and/or super-users to identify, document, and prioritize their needs.
    2. Perform “rounds” with departments to maintain a casual interface with the individuals and to focus on relationship building with the department.
    3. Coordinate operational and capital project requests with the appropriate IS&T and operational teams.
    4. Be primary contact point for supported applications  regarding system downtime
    5. Develop an in-depth knowledge of system capabilities, applications and processes to function effectively as an educator and expert for system users.
    6. Create/Modify/Advise on workflow improvements regarding system usage and design.
  2. Lead delivery of technical consulting and support services with minimal management input.
    1. Take primary ownership for applications software support and file maintenance/break-fix/optimization/upgrades/implementations.
    2. Lead / facilitate system design, validation and/or remediation sessions
    3. Independently resolve highly complex, multi-function application errors and system issues
    4. Provide leadership for assessment, coordination, testing, documentation and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests.
    5. Develop and maintain a strong and positive relationship with all applicable application vendors acting as primary vendor contact .
    6. Provide on-call coverage, as scheduled.  
  3. Provide project management services and support for a broad scope of projects with limited management interaction.
    1. When project managing a project, follow the IS&T Project Management Protocol.
    2. Advocate the user perspective and focus on making sure that there is a comprehensive  support plan and  documentation.
    3. Work with end users to navigate project request process
  4. Ensure compliance with IS&T, Children’s, JCAHO and HIPAA guidelines, policies and   procedures, demonstrated by appropriately performing the following tasks.
    1. Follow change management and time reporting processes and documentation requirements.
    2. Respond to support calls within designated times according to priority, and provide regular updates until resolution. Provide leadership  in queue management and assist team members as needed to be sure that calls are answered and followed up on efficiently.
    3. Provide and communicate  clear documentation for support, status and issues resolutions.
    4. Provide system solutions in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  5. Lead and mentor within and across teams.
    1. Assist and mentor team members and other staff, as well as serve as an orientation resource for new employees. 
    2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the team, department members and the organization. 
    3. Participate in educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and expertise.
    4. Serve as a positive change agent within and across teams.
    5. Lead and /or facilitate team meetings as well as cross-team meetings and initiatives.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
