Rehab Clinical Supervisor-Robotics

JOB SUMMARY

Provides the highest quality age-appropriate care for patients newborn to 20 years of age within the scope of practice and established standards for clinical practice. Functions effectively as a member of the rehabilitation team. Supports the mission of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Provides clinical supervision and assumes operational duties of department as assigned. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate from accredited school with degree in Communication Disorders, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Certified/licensed in rehabilitation-related professional area
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment

EXPERIENCE*

  • 2 years of clinical experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • 2 years of experience in supervisory leadership
  • 5 years of experience in pediatrics with a wide range of populations

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Knowledge of pediatric theory and practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability in administrative functions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective communication of information
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher within 30 days of employment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Coordinates and monitors daily operations of assigned department.
  2. Provides clinical care and administrative functions as assigned.
  3. Assumes responsibility and manages clinical operations to assist manager.
  4. Completes performance appraisal process for direct reports.
  5. Provides supervision to Level 1, 2, and 3 therapists, aides, and students as assigned.
  6. Completes Children's Healthcare of Atlanta supervisory certification program within one year of employment.
  7. Serves as resource and mentor to other staff.
  8. Provides orientation, in-services, staff meetings, and clinical guidance to other staff as requested.
  9. Ensures compliance with accreditation and Joint Commission standards.
  10. Evaluates patients, meeting established standards.
  11. Plans and implements effective and appropriate treatment so that functional outcomes are achieved.
  12. Completes documentation, meeting departmental standards for content, accuracy, and timeliness.
  13. Includes family/caregiver in patient care and provides effective education appropriate for learning needs of patient and family.   
  14. Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines, including N = Neonate (less than 30 days), I = Infant (30 days to 1 year), EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years), LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years), A = Adolescent (13-17 years), AD = Adult, and ALL = all ages.
  15. Participates in maintaining and monitoring work environment to ensure a continual state of Joint Commission readiness.
  16. Manage the day to day operations of the staff, including but not limited to: work assignments, task management, time tracking/management, and on-the-job training.
  17. Take an active role in coaching and mentoring the team to ensure continued employee growth and success both on the team and at the broader CHOA organization.
  18. Assist manager with employee performance evaluations and hiring decisions.

 

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
