JOB SUMMARY

Provides complete and timely repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of required equipment faster and more economically than any outside vendor. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, meets regulatory requirements, and maintains required records. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION
  • Associate of Science in Biomedical Technology or related field
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • No professional certifications required
EXPERIENCE*

• 4 years of experience in diagnostic imaging equipment repair

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

• Proficient in various hardware/software applications and equipment database programs
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be detailed oriented and have excellent follow through skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

1. Ensures proper maintenance of all imaging equipment, including warranty, leased, and loaner equipment.
2. Diagnoses problems, repairs to circuit board level, and re-calibrates equipment.
3. Tracks, schedules, and completes preventive maintenance checks by due dates.
4. Maintains ongoing active communications with clinicians regarding equipment status. 
5. Coordinates outside repairs with radiology equipment manufacturers.
6. Assists in or performs incident investigations.
7. Ensures equipment is properly tested before being returned to service.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
