In order to meet the demands of a growing pediatric population, the Marcus Autism Center is seeking a Child Psychiatrist to join our team. 

In this role, the Child Psychiatrist will focus on providing clinical care and pediatric psychopharmacology to patients with Autism and related psychiatric co-morbidities, on an out-patient basis.  He or she may also have opportunities to support research and to provide supervision of allied clinicians and clinical training for students. The Center values excellence in patient-centered care and will be looking for a person who is successful in effectively communicating with patients, families and colleagues. Our clinicians enjoy the opportunity to learn from interdisciplinary collaboration and to disseminate cutting edge technologies and models of clinical service delivery emerging from the synergies of active translational research in a clinical context.

Successful candidates will be well trained in child psychiatry and will have a history of commitment to serving children with autism and their families. The position requires that candidates be license-eligible to practice as a physician in the state of Georgia. Faculty affiliation or appointment in either the Emory University Department of Pediatrics or Department of Psychiatry is possible, depending on qualifications of the candidate. This position is also available as an employed physician as part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. 

  • Medical School
  • Board certified and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
  • Current DEA registration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical specialty

  • Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff
  1. Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures.
  2. Provides direct supervision within the respective clinical area of residents and medical students, ensuring adequate opportunities for training through teaching, patient contact, case review and research.
  3. Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
  4. Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
  5. Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
  6. Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
  7. Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area.
  8. Participates in activities that enhance professional development.
  9. Completes and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the assigned area.
  10. Participate in the development of goals for the department including research, quality and customer service initiatives.
  11. Performs other responsibilities as required.

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
