Project Manager - Investment Office

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and completes high-level, complex projects related to Investment Office’s goals and initiatives. Provides project management support to Chief Investment Officer and Investment Office.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, social sciences, healthcare administration or related field
Master’s degree in business, public health, health administration or related field preferred but not required

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required
     

EXPERIENCE*


Minimum of 5 years related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Experience in an investment firm, bank trust department, pension fund, endowment fund, or consulting firm

Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including an ability to interact with executive leadership and trustees (strong executive presence)
Proven ability to translate complicated material or issues into effective and thoughtful project plans, deliverables, and executive-level communications  
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint
Creative problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment; personal adaptability
Results oriented with ability to quickly assimilate data and communicate results
Superior personal organization and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines with keen attention to detail
Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

Manages planning and execution of the Investment Committee of the System Board of Trustees, including all material development, logistics, and communication
Develops executive-level presentations and communications for internal and external audiences; Must possess extensive experience transforming complex subject matter into visually appealing, easily digestible content
Facilitates approval of new investment managers by the CFO and Investment Committee, including review and distribution of Summary of Interest Reports and Manager Recommendation Memos
Monitors, documents, and facilitates approval of all Portfolio actions, including execution or review of deliverables necessary for Fully Delegated Actions, Actions Requiring Advance Notification, and Actions Requiring Approval
Drafts and manages implementation of new and existing Investment Office Processes, Templates & Deliverable Schedules; drafts and manages revision, approval, and implementation of Investment Office Policies
Manages one-time and ongoing CIO, Investment Office, Investment Committee, CFO, and Investment Portfolio related projects from planning through execution. Responsibilities include development of project plans and deliverable trackers, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and production of executive level written communications, including presentations, executive summaries, and memos, and financial spreadsheets.  Supports CIO & Investment Office; Responsibilities include:
Works closely with CIO on Investment Office priorities and partners with key internal and external stakeholders to meet these objectives
Maintains an understanding of all projects being completed by the Investment Office team (Operations & Investments) and the CIO to:
Help ensure the CIO is prioritizing projects that require attention or review
Identify where additional resources are required
Facilitate internal and external stakeholder collaboration
Facilitate deliverable or project completion by established deadlines
Serves as resource for all Investment Office team members
Builds and maintains relationships with Children’s internal and external stakeholders

PHYSICAL DEMANDS*

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs independently not to exceed 50 lbs without assistance
Bending/Stooping - Frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of time)
Climbing - Occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of time)
Hearing/Speaking - Effective communication with employees, supervisors/managers and staff. Effective communications with patients and visitors, as required.

Pushing/Pulling - Occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of time)
