JOB SUMMARY

Oversees systemwide programs and initiatives to improve quality of care and patient safety in partnership with Quality department and operation leaders, Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, and Senior Director, Quality and Patient Safety. Provides leadership, consultation, and strategic planning for quality and patient safety program and related efforts. Serves as central resource to operational leaders for development and implementation of efficient, effective, timely, patient-centered strategies. Partners with all disciplines, departments, payors, vendors, and community agencies to reduce risk and optimize clinical outcomes within best practice, ethical, legal, and regulatory parameters.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or related clinical field

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Registered Nurse or other current clinical Georgia license

EXPERIENCE*

  • 5 years of experience in program development and project management
  • 7 years of experience in healthcare

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Master’s degree
  • 5 years of experience in pediatrics

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Partners with Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, Senior Director, Quality and Patient Safety, and other system leaders to drive projects to improve quality and safety of care.
  2. Assists in the development and monitoring of quality strategic vision, annual goals, and department services.
  3. Partners with operational leaders in the development of a systematic approach to high reliability strategies and programs.
  4. Participates in the determination, definition, and periodic evaluation of the quality and patient safety program, using data to better understand strengths and weaknesses of the hospital and departments and to determine needs, decisions, and strategies.
  5. Drives effective and safe processes, ensuring efficient outcomes through collaboration with physicians, other departments, system leadership, and staff.
  6. Removes barriers and identifies patterns for improvement.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
