JOB SUMMARY

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Contributes to the execution of the Professional Patient Accounting department vision and strategies by identifying and executing improvement opportunities related to billing, collections, and accounts receivable management. Leads and facilitates the identification of key measures, data analysis, process improvement, and the implementation of redesigned processes for system clinical and operational functions.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience in revenue cycle at managerial level
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Epic Systems (revenue cycle) within one year of employment
EXPERIENCE*
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Four years of experience in process improvement or business analysis in healthcare
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in revenue cycle, finance, or project management
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in leading teams and facilitating workshops from start to finish with measurable results and operational impact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Master's degree in healthcare, business, or related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience working with Epic Resolute HB or PB
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Access advanced functions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Certification in facilitation, process improvement, project management, or related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Management of large statistical data with proven analysis skills (e.g., clinical, operational, customer service)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Educates and provides technical expertise to system employees and leaders in identifying key performance indicators linked and aligned with organizational strategic goals and performance targets.
  2. Facilitates multidisciplinary teams using Lean Six Sigma methodology to evaluate processes and systems, generate alternatives, and make recommendations to reduce waste, increase utilization, reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and produce improved financial outcomes.
  3. Communicates team recommendations effectively.
  4. Provides continuous analysis of collection efforts through identification of payor denial, variance, and payment trends, and develops effective solutions to improve operations and
  5. Facilitates delivery of basic, intermediate, and advanced quality and service training modules to management and staff.
  6. Develops supporting instructional materials that enhance the learning objectives. 
  7. Works with other members of the team to ensure consistency and seamlessness in service experience (quality/customer service), financial, or operational performance.
  8. Facilitates failure modes and effects analyses to identify and eliminate or minimize points of risks through process redesign.
  9. Collaborates with appropriate physicians, management, and staff to obtain, document, and validate information related to assigned projects.
  10. Develops quality, service, and financial metrics to assess the overall success of improvement efforts.
  11. Evaluates and implements new initiatives that assist in the achievement of system goals.
  12. Maintains professional development by expanding knowledge base of methodologies and techniques including continuous quality improvement, statistical process control, Six Sigma, and Lean.
  13. Participates in the achievement of organizational-directed department goals.
  14. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and contributes to departmental achievement of financial goals (Revenue Cycle).
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
