Practitioner Performance Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

Ensures continued compliance with regulatory standards related to focus and ongoing professional practice evaluation for all practitioners granted clinical privileges at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, including physicians and allied health staff. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with 5 years of experience in medical staff services or performance improvement or an equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or seeking certification
EXPERIENCE*
  • 5 years experience in medical staff services or performance improvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Registered nurse
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*
  • Working knowledge of the credentialing, re-credentialing, and peer review processes
  • Ability to review and analyze data
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Maintains current inventory of practitioner performance data systems and sources.
  2. Collaborates with professional staff leadership to identify current, relevant, specialty-specific practice indicators and conducts routine review and revision to ensure indicators remain current and relevant.
  3. Works with system departments to identify hospital performance measures relevant to practitioners with clinical privileges and ensures data collection and reporting process is fair and efficient.
  4. Works in partnership with Credentialing Services as relates to a practitioner’s focused professional practice evaluation and ensures appropriate reports  are compiled and reviewed.
  5. Catalogs competency measures into reporting format minimally on an annual basis for all practitioners with clinical privileges and ensures compiled data can be attributed to the specific practitioner being evaluated.
  6. Identifies trends following comprehensive analyses of information provided and researched.
  7. Maintains confidentiality and integrity of physician performance files.
  8. Monitors and ensures compliance of the performance tool with appropriate regulatory agencies and organizational standards.
  9. Advises manager of workflow issues.
  10. Provides support to manager as required to ensure continuity of services provided by Medical Staff Governance.
  11. Provides expertise and information concerning professional staff evaluation theory, practices and policies to both internal and external contacts.
  12. Participates in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
  13. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
