Pediatric Institute: Pediatric Radiologist

JOB SUMMARY

Join one of the largest pediatric radiology teams in the country! The Emory University Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, are recruiting a full-time, board certified or board eligible pediatric radiologist to join our growing faculty at the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute. As a part of our system-level approach to care, with one single radiology practice, pediatric radiologists will provide services at each of our technologically advanced hospital campuses, as well as select satellite locations. Our sophisticated telehealth program also allows our radiologists to work from their home office. As the only freestanding pediatric healthcare system in Georgia, and one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country, Children's is responding to the growing demand for access to specialized pediatric care.  Our plans for future growth across the system, including a major pediatric medical campus, will allow us to give more kids the care and expertise that is unique to Children's

EDUCATION

•    Qualified applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in pediatric radiology.
•    Qualified applicants must have completed, or be eligible to take, the CAQ in pediatric radiology.

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

•    Board certified to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
•    Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Georgia
•    Current DEA license
•    PALS certification is required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

1.    Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures.
2.    Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice.
3.    Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education.
4.    Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner.
5.    Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
6.    Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area.
7.    Participates in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in ALS and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned.
8.    Performs other responsibilities as required.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. 


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
