PR and Social Media Coordinator-Child Advocacy Marketing

To manage comprehensive public relations/media relations and social media plans and programs to support Child Advocacy Marketing’s strategic goals and marketing plans.  To provide public relations support for key strategic initiatives, programs, special projects, events and/or breaking news; and to communicate the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Strong4Life mission and vision to the media through an on-going media relations, communications and social media program including the development and dissemination of news, feature and photo releases, proactive and reactive media and social contacts.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, writing or related field

• Minimum 3+ years public relations or communications experience.  Must have news media or media relations experience and strong knowledge of communication, public relations and social media practices, methods and strategies


• Agency experience preferred. Must possess basic management principles and have supervisory experience as well as experience in developing and managing communication plans and associated budget
• Must have proven communication skills and abilities in writing, public speaking, and interpreting concepts/ideas into written and/or verbal form to selected audiences including news media, bloggers, general public, staff, volunteers, other healthcare workers, etc
• Must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines and be flexible and adaptable to unexpected changes.  Must have excellent project management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Wordpress, social networks, and online community building

1. Develops PR and Social Media plans to support Child Advocacy by identifying appropriate methods, tools and vehicles to achieve plan goals.
2. Manages outside resource relationships as appropriate to implement public relations and social media campaigns.
3. Ensures media relations program is in place to respond to media inquiries in accordance with media relations procedures and represents Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in a professional manner to the media and other outside organizations.  Makes appropriate arrangements for interviews with hospital personnel or volunteers. 
4. Partners with account managers, graphic designers and editorial to create and deliver social media campaigns, materials, messaging, blogs etc.
5. Manages the portfolio of social media campaigns and engaging with online audiences, both reactively and proactively, to promote the campaign on social channels. Actively monitors and manages prompt and appropriate responses to social media posts on Strong4Life social channels as well as external channels as appropriate.
6. Develops social media calendars and creates regular progress/campaign summary reports to review ROI and make recommendations based on analysis/trends.
7. Manage day-to-day operations of the brand’s social media properties including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
8. Perform daily monitoring through social media listening tools and proactively insert brand in relevant social conversations.

9. Pull and review monthly analytics and make recommendations to optimize effectiveness of tactics.
10. Participate in Content Editorial Board and other team meetings as necessary.
