 In order to meet the demands of a growing patient population, the Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Disorders at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced orthodontist, interested in working closely with other members of the craniofacial team to meet the orthodontic needs of our patients. 

In this full-time role, the orthodontist will provide diagnosis and treatment for our pediatric patient population. The orthodontist will work closely with other members of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta craniofacial team to treat children with cleft lip and palate, jaw deformities, and other craniofacial disorders. The orthodontist will be involved in providing nasoalveolar molding (NAM) appliances for infants with cleft lip and palate and  orthodontist will work with other team members to optimize clinic operations in the outpatient setting.

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental School. Completed a minimum of a two-year graduate program  in Orthodontics


  • Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Georgia                                                                       
  • Certification in C.P.R


  • Experience desired in treating patients with Cleft and Craniofacial Disorders


  • Board Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics


  • Member in good standing of the Medical Staff of the Hospital, with clinical privileges to  permit the performance of all services required in this job description

  1. Participates in the development of the orthodontic program consistent with the hospital's goals and objectives.
  2. Assures appropriate routine and emergency orthodontic coverage necessary to support the orthodontics program.
  3. Assists with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to orthodontics.
  4. Assists with budget projections for revenue and expenses.
  5. Provides continued guidance and support to the Craniofacial software systems.
  6. Supports and ensures compliance with the patient billing structure and provides guidance for the patient appointment structure.
  7. Delivers competent patient care support services to patients from newborn to 21 years of age and  integrates infection control and body substance precautions, body mechanics and knowledge of  growth and development. 
  8. Supports and participates in continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care  and services provided.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
