New Media Specialist

Provide technical assistance, including operating, monitoring, assisting in design and support media on equipment of the internal television and radio broadcasting programs in Seacrest Studios at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This role encompasses many functions including on-air broadcasting, videographer, editing, program development and copywriting.


Bachelor’s degree in multi-media journalism, media, radio/television production, filmmaking, communications or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.


No professional certifications required.


• Two years of technical experience in providing audio-visual, television or broadcast radio in a professional environment

• Two years of audio-visual, multi-media, or radio broadcast equipment use, maintenance and minor repair knowledge


Technical experience and proven proficiencies in technologies and processes utilized in Seacrest Studios (Tricaster, SAS M Class 20.2 console, VoxPro, Leightronix).

1. Develops live and pre-recorded program content, facilitating patient participation in media programs, supervising media student interns and volunteers and maintaining strong internal relationships required to maintain fully operational television and radio studios.
2. Installs, configures and maintains media. Educates users in supported products and services. Operates and maintains essential studio hardware equipment. Sources and edits audio / music files in Avid Pro Tools; creates visual still and motion media with various cameras and Adobe Creative Cloud Software.
3. Produces stories, highlight emails, photos and/or video for a range of projects including posters, advertisements, direct mail, corporate identity pieces, and externally-facing website. Learns to follow creative workflow from concept to production, development and/or media outreach.
4. Manages own project workflow while coordinating with project teams and management on schedules, assignments, requirements, and goals as needed.  Helps to ensure successful representation of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Seacrest Studios brands across media, through knowledge of brand standards, design templates and systems architecture.
5. Collaborates with multiple departments in developing programming, communications concepts and stories that reflect the unique position and value of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Seacrest Studios and to our diverse audience segments.
6. Repairs/maintains technical equipment and ensures timeliness when working with outside vendors on repairs.
7. Demonstrates new and innovative methods of applying technology and skills in work.
8. Additional duties as assigned.
