Mobile Device Management (MDM) Lead

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a Mobile Device Management Lead to join our permanent team. The Mobile Device Management Lead will directly contribute to the overall enterprise mobility environment at Children’s while leading operations/maintenance and driving the technical vision and strategy around mobile device management (MDM), spanning iOS and Android platforms. This role will have technical ownership of the team up to and including managing the daily operations, projects, resource allocations, adherence to team metrics, assignment of technical tasks within the team, and act as a point of escalation for all technical issues. Responsible for architectural design for all mobility solutions and transition to implementation and support. The individual will be responsible for collaborating with all internal IS&T departments to ensure all of IS&T is delivering to the mobility strategy. This individual manages, maintains support, troubleshoots, and optimizes the mobile environment and its related mobile devices and suggests adjustments and new system designs for future needs, ensuring that all mobile devices and activations comply with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s policies and procedures.


College degree in operationally related area


• No professional certifications required


• Minimum six (6) years of relevant work experience with mobile device management (MDM)
• Three years of relevant work experience in a Mobility Engineer capacity
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience managing a complex team capacity and workload
• Advanced detailed knowledge in MDM architecture and infrastructure
• Experience with VMware WorkspaceOne/Airwatch, Jamf, and Intune


• Strong understanding and background of working with large mobile device management environments operating in a complex Active Directory and PKI infrastructure and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures and processes.

1. Responsible for operations and maintenance of the Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms and assist in the design and development of MDM and security architecture across Children’s, applying expert level knowledge of mobility systems and security to ensure the design and implementation of mobile technology
2. Responsible for technical strategic guidance for planning and future roadmap of MDM solutions (i.e. Airwatch, Jamf, Intune, and application layer mobility management controls)
3. Oversees daily Mobility Team operations, e.g. Projects, queue monitoring, metrics monitoring
4. Oversee, plan and coordinate cross team efforts between the Mobility team, Mobile Clinician team, Field Services, VoIP and Network Teams, to ensure scheduling of maintenance and project efforts, establish best practices and standards, and ensure overall health of the Mobility environment
5. Drive the development of BYOD guidelines and standards for application usage, in conjunction with Information Security, to ensure appropriate controls are in place for Children’s community while offering a positive user experience and improving adoption.  
6. Plan and coordinate cross team efforts to ensure appropriate direct end user support and partnering for all aspects of Mobility deliverables
7. Apply Expert level mobile device management knowledge of enterprise mobility systems to solve operational problems and provide continuous maintenance
8. Apply Expert level knowledge of multiple Mobile Device Management (MDM) technologies to design and engineer secure mobile solutions
9. Leads the creation and maintenance of standards documentation for devices and applications managed by the MDM platform.
10. Leads vendor engagement efforts to remediate incidents.
11. Supports multiple technical teams in 24 x 7 environment operational.
12. Complete Incident and Service Request tickets within required service levels
13. Lead the creation of knowledge articles to support Solution Center Tier 1 effectiveness including close on initial call
14. Effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues.
15. Ensure engineered solutions are designed to maintain highest availability and service dependability.
16. Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation.
17. Follow Change Management process for all changes to production systems, including documenting all changes made to systems.
18. Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and Diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards.
19. Responsible for the day to day administration of MDM infrastructure and end device management.
20. Lead implementation tasks related to MDM infrastructure and end devices, including: configuration, integration, and roll-outs.
21. Coordinate and participate in a monthly on-call rotation
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
