JOB SUMMARY

Manages advanced analytics, measurement development, business intelligence infrastructure, predictive analytics, and proof-of-concept to operations business intelligence development. Manages the work of teams under direct line to ensure the pediatric differential, quality, and operational performance work approved through Children's Healthcare of Atlanta’s prioritization process is measureable, comparable, and reportable to leadership. Serves as a member of the transformation standardization team.

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, or healthcare-related field

EXPERIENCE*

  • 5 years of experience in a healthcare organization performing data analysis support
  • 3 years of experience in management or supervision
  • 3 years of experience in working with business customers to define data and functional requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Strong understanding of database technologies and concepts, e.g., relational database modeling/design, data extraction and loading, database administration, data validation/quality control
  • Expert skills in analytical/statistical reporting and business intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Access, Crystal Reports, BusinessObjects, SAS)
  • Ability to multitask and work both independently and within teams
  • Ability to communicate well and present findings verbally and in writing
  • Ability to support multiple assignments, shift priorities in accordance with need, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Ensures department's activities are developed in a manner consistent with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta's overall mission and vision in partnership with Director, Outcomes Center and Quality Management and Medical Director, Outcomes and Population Health.
  2. Defines current and future outcomes data architecture and strategies, including the genesis of future state reporting on value, working collaboratively within Chief Transformation Officer’s structure.
  3. Partners with system quality and financial experts to proactively mine existing data and develop new data sources to ensure resources are directed towards the highest value areas within clinical and operational effectiveness.
  4. Creates predictive analytics and other models that help distinguish the pediatric differential within services and determination of areas for management of population health.
  5. Serves as resource to determine appropriate outcome measures, data collection methods, appropriate statistical analysis, and data presentation.
  6. Supports collaborative efforts in research with Emory, Georgia Tech, and other academic partners.
  7. Facilitates prioritization of projects and requirements among competing business interests.
  8. Assists in budget planning and annual budget preparation, management, and tracking.
  9. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  10. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  11. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
