JOB SUMMARY

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a Manager of Clinical and Performance Analytics.  The Manager of Clinical and Performance Analytics manages and develops business intelligence solutions in support of key Quality, Operational, and Financial initiatives.  Acts as a business and technical consultant, translating customer and system needs into long-term, adaptable, technical solutions.  Builds an effective team, mentors and develops staff, and educates staff on best practices.  Facilitates prioritization of tasks, requests, projects, and requirements among competing business interests and communicates effectively with senior leaders.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  •  No professional certifications required
EXPERIENCE*
  • 6 years of experience in business intelligence, including data design, data analytics, data quality, reporting/visualization creation, translating business and financial needs into long-term architecture solutions, and implementing self-service business intelligence strategies
  • Experience in data modeling and data warehousing with in-depth knowledge of relational database models, entity relationship diagrams, and normalization/de-normalization
  • Experience in defining, configuring, accessing, querying, and validating data using database systems such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience in a reporting/presentation tool (e.g., Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, Qlikview, ProClarity, Tableau)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Master’s degree  
  • Experience in increasing management responsibilities, including project and employee management

  • Must possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, complete reliability, and intuitive understanding of mathematical/statistical relationships and trends
  • Must have proven organization and project skills with the ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Must show maturity, good judgment, trustworthiness, and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Oversees the entire life cycle for developing business intelligence solutions, including scope, data, presentation, analytics, quality, documentation, support, and timeliness.
  2. Creates a robust, sustainable architecture that supports business requirements and provides for adaptability and expansion.
  3. Develops quality measures and processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  4. Develops and maintains good working relationships across organizational lines.
  5. Develops and maintains the optimal strategy, architecture, tools, knowledge, and data to accomplish evidence-based financial decision making.
  6. Translates strategic designs into actionable development plans and achievable/sustainable information deliverables.
  7. Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with leadership by providing credible and timely analytics and data.
  8. Oversees operational aspects of data integration, retrieval, processing, and validation.
  9. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  10. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  11. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
