Manager, Employee Wellness

JOB SUMMARY

Develops, implements, and manages wellness programs that impact defined population (e.g., employees, physicians, children). Leads program strategy, design, evaluation, data collection, and analysis of initiatives. Oversees staff and budget, including responsibility for operations, contracts, and grants. 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Behavioral Science, Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science, or related field

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Must have reliable personal automobile and auto insurance

EXPERIENCE*

  • 5 years of experience in project planning and management
  • 5 years of experience in management of staff and budget

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in wellness

  • Proven ability to design and implement components/programs that drive large-scale change
  • Must be able to partner with diverse organizations working toward a common goal
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and management skills, including ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environment, manage time and multiple assignments, meet frequent deadlines, shift priorities, and work independently and within teams
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate with and influence individuals and groups at all levels of an internal or external organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Oversees program, serving as a member of the Wellness management team.
  2. Develops and manages department budget.
  3. Manages and reports about deliverables for grants and contracts.
  4. Manages staff, providing clear direction and maximizing individual strengths and career aspirations.
  5. Maintains knowledge of wellness-related research, market trends, and best practices.
  6. Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates programs and projects that impact defined populations.
  7. Tracks and reports performance and participation data, and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  8. Maintains and builds relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, including community partners.
  9. Collaborates with Wellness Marketing to develop program brand and messaging.
  10. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  11. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  12. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
