Manager, Clinical Learning (RN Required)

JOB SUMMARY

Provides oversight for the design, delivery, and evaluation of the Clinical Learning team for effectiveness and impact. Leads a team and collaborates with clinical educators to assess needs and deliver education and training solutions that support and enhance clinical competency, professional development, and improved patient outcomes.

 

EDUCATION

• Bachelor of Science in nursing

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
• Professional Nursing Certification required upon hire or must acquire within one year (Ex. Nursing Professional Development, Pediatric Nurse Certification, Nurse Executive, or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader)

EXPERIENCE*
  • Five years of experience in pediatric nursing
     
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or other healthcare related field.
• Proficient knowledge of The Joint Commission regulatory requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and management skills
  • Proven experience leading a clinical training team through projects or training program implementation
  • Ability to deliver on annual goals that lead to performance improvements
  • Proven ability to design and deliver program improvements and meet changing needs
  • Advanced skills in the full suite of Microsoft Office
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

1. Manages annual operations, including annual budget development and tracking, tracking and documentation of systemwide clinical learning and results, and annual clinical learning calendar.
2. Optimizes clinical professional development curriculum for desired outcomes and usage of resources in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta's strategic goals.
3. Leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Patient Care Provider Orientation (PCPO).
4. Ensures compliance with regulatory training requirements for new hires.
5. Provides leadership and oversight to annual clinical competency assessments, patient and family education, and all ongoing clinical education programs.
6. Develops and implements activities to meet requirements of The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
7. Leads and participates in the continuing assessment, evaluation, and improvement of the quality of education services provided.
8. Functions as a resource for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta nursing leadership for development of clinical staff.
9. Provides leadership and support for the patient family education function through operational funding of resources and collaboration with nursing councils.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
