Microsoft 365 Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and administration of Microsoft 365 services, to include (but not limited to) Office 365, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Azure Active Directory. The Engineer will partner with appropriate teams across the organization to research and implement advanced functions of Microsoft 365 while maintaining accurate documentation of processes for areas of responsibility. This individual will analyze and develop innovation resolutions for complex problems and provide overall technical guidance to project teams, ensuring new initiatives are appropriately researched, considered and when applicable, implemented.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, plus seven years of experience in Technology is preferred
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and five years of work experience in Technology

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • No Certification Required

EXPERIENCE*

  • Seven years of experience in Technology preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a technical lead preferred.
  • Experience with administration and configuration skills for the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Experience with the ITIL Release Management principles and building a program around those principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Lifecycle Management of the M365 environment
  • Software License maintenance and tracking
  • Prior experience migrating to Microsoft 365 and a proven ability to evaluate the current environment and develop technical and business processes.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Windows Server, Azure, and Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Azure AD Connect/AD FS experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Security Compliance
  • Backend SharePoint support
  • Backend MS Teams support
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills and adaptability are a must.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Provide technical expertise on Microsoft 365 services: Office365, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Azure Active Directory
  2. Responsible for administration with Microsoft 365 applications (Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
  3. Responsible for administration and configuration in Azure AD design, development, networking and integration.
  4. Responsible for partnering with appropriate teams to research and implement advanced functions of Microsoft 365.
  5. Responsible for analyzing and developing innovative resolutions for complex problems involving performance at the system level.
  6. Responsible for providing technical guidance to project teams, ensuring new initiatives are appropriately vetted/considered/enabled and work to build, leverage and maintain effective partnerships across the technical and business community.
  7. Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of processes for areas of responsibility.

 

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
