Lead Distribution Aide

JOB SUMMARY

Inputs products/goods received and/or oversees delivery, tracking, and documentation of patient care equipment. Assists in the assignment of tasks within assigned area, and ensures tasks are performed as prescribed in the staff’s job descriptions. Proactively supports the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • No professional certifications required
EXPERIENCE*
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare distribution (3 years preferred)
  • Experience with inventory control computer systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in supervising employees

  • Must possess good communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Available to work rotating shifts and overtime with short notice
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Assigns tasks for and monitors results of the assigned staff.
  2. Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided.
  3. Drives the department's customer service initiatives, understands and supports family-centered care philosophy, and interfaces with departments as necessary to support patient care.
  4. Receives deliveries and properly documents paperwork as needed, tracks end-of-month statistics and assists in end-of-month closing, and ensures shipping feedback is completed daily.
  5. Enters requisitions as needed.
  6. Assists with ordering of supplies and/or equipment as necessary.
  7. May maintain records and reconcile with vendor and purchasing as appropriate.
  8. Maintains a clean and safe workplace, ensuring all deliveries are made in a timely manner.
  9. Recognizes issues and works with the appropriate leader and others as necessary to resolve.
  10. Answers phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
  11. Assist Supervisor and/or Manager with development of staff by: being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
  12. Provide Supervisor and/or Manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
