JOB SUMMARY

The Investment Analyst will have an exciting opportunity to join a mission driven capital allocator as a critical part of a small team within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  The Investment analyst will assist with the management of a multi-billion diversified portfolio across asset classes such as public equity, hedge funds, fixed income/credit, private equity, venture capital and growth equity.  While a generalist role, the Investment Analyst will gain experience through rotations in both public and private market strategies.  This is a Pre-MBA 2-3 year position.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, mathematics, engineering, economics, computer science, or related fields

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Progress towards additional certification is preferred (CFA, CAIA, etc.).

EXPERIENCE*

  • Up to three years relevant experience in investment management, banking, accounting, finance, or investment operations preferred.  Recent College graduates encouraged to apply.

  • Passionate about global investing across asset classes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Experience in the investment industry

  • Knowledge of investment asset classes, capital markets and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated self-starter who can multi-task and work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Must be proactive, open to new challenges, and have a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Commitment to high business and professional standards, ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ambitious goals while maintaining a high degree of quality.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills including the ability to form and clearly articulate ideas.
  • Strong analytical, critical analysis/reasoning, and problem-solving skills including comfort with aggregating and analyzing data.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Programing language knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Caissa, and Dynamo is a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Work closely with the Investment Directors, CIO and other senior investment team members in managing overall portfolio allocation, liquidity, performance, and risk.
  2. Assist in evaluating new investment opportunities through participating in due-diligence meetings, performing quantitative analyses, documenting call notes and preparing written investment memoranda and analysis.
  3. Perform ongoing monitoring of current managers including reviewing manager reports and letters, analyzing financial information, and preparing summary reports.
  4. Perform industry research and deep dives into specific strategies, peer groups, sectors, geographies, or asset classes to identify investment opportunities.
  5. Maintain electronic databases housing investment reporting and manager information.
  6. Assist with quarterly board meeting materials and special projects.
  7. Network with institutional peers to stay informed about investment trends.
  8. Provide regular operational support for the portfolio as needed.
  9. Occasional travel may be required over time.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
