Implementation Hardware Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring an Implementation Hardware Specialist to join our permanent team.  The Implementation Hardware Specialist implements all end user devices, including annual technology refresh, project implementations, and oversight/management of location-based inventory.

EDUCATION
  • Associate's degree in Computer Sciences, equivalent field, or equivalent experience
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • No professional certifications required
EXPERIENCE*
  • 1 year of experience in computer operations
  • 2 years of experience in a desktop support position, including proficiency in Microsoft operating systems (e.g., Windows XP and Windows 7), Microsoft Office Suite, VoIP technologies, and general information technology hardware
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Computing Technology Industry Association A+
  • Computing Technology Industry Association N+
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in a help desk and personal computer environment
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally known information technology platforms, standards, and software development language(s)
  • Well-developed organizational, written communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff and patient care systems users
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Implements all Information Systems & Technology hardware and software on a wide area network, including Microsoft Office, Windows XP, Windows 7, client network software, and specialized clinical and business software within the system.
  2. Maintains proper documentation as required by Information Systems & Technology management to properly track status of all implemented equipment and software to assist solution center in providing prompt response to users of newly implemented Information Systems & Technology equipment and software as stated by policy and to maintain current inventory of all implemented Information Systems & Technology equipment and software.
  3. Provides appropriate assistance to project managers responsible for coordinating the moving of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta equipment related to current projects and facility requests.
  4. Manages end user device hardware inventory at based location, ensuring product is asset-controlled and managed to support field services team customer service requirements.
  5. Provides management of all hardware receipt and stocking at base location.
  6. Provides repair and maintenance of all end user devices/hardware at base location.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
