Financial Planning Senior Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The financial planning senior analyst provides financial analysis in development of business plans and pro formas for his/her assigned areas. This role develops and maintains financial models, tools, and templates for financial planning. The senior analyst supports development of summaries and presentations for decision making in coordination with the manager of financial planning.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, health care administration, or related field
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  • No professional certifications required
EXPERIENCE*
  • Four or more years of experience in role performing financial analytical support required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • Master’s degree
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Financial Analyst certification

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Demonstrates expertise in available data and use of data collection systems.
  2. Gathers financial and benchmark information and data and performs analysis to identify key trends, establish baseline, and determine present and future financial performance.
  3. Provides timely, relevant, and accurate analysis and reporting of the organization’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted, and strategic plan figures.
  4. Verifies data integrity, quality, and accuracy, and provides  timely reporting of financial information.
  5. Develops and maintains financial models used during the planning process, in cost benefit analyses, pro formas, long-range projections, and forecasts.
  6. Recommends financial actions based on analysis and by assessing options in relation to organization goals.
  7. Supports development of executive-level financial plan summaries and presentations with manager of financial planning and/or financial planning manager.
  8. Supports development of long range financial plan, including modeling of sensitivities to baseline performance.
  9. Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
