EDUCATION

  • Graduation from accredited high school or equivalent

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • A+ or above

EXPERIENCE*

  • Two years of experience in computer operations
  • Two years of experience in a desktop support position, including help desk and a microcomputer environment
  • Experience in workstation hardware installation, upgrades, and testing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Experience in performance tuning, capacity, security, planning, and application configuration management
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Computing Technology Industry Association A+
  • Computing Technology Industry Association N+

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally known information technology platforms, standards, and software development language(s)
  • Well-developed organizational, written communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff and patient care system users
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
  • Proficient in TCP/IP, Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, VoIP technologies, and server hardware and application support

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Implements all Information Systems & Technology hardware and software on a wide area network, including Microsoft Office Suite and operating systems and specialized clinical and business software within the system.
  2. Maintains proper documentation, as required by Information Systems & Technology management, to properly track status of all implemented Information Systems & Technology equipment and software, assist the solution center in providing prompt responses to users of newly implemented equipment and software as stated by policy, and to maintain a current inventory of all implemented equipment and software.
  3. Demonstrates data modeling skills, e.g. normalization, star schema, and the vault.
  4. Participates in system projects, provides appropriate assistance to project manager and coordinates moving of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta equipment.
  5. Provides input into technology strategies and tool selections.
  6. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures used to resolve complex issues.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
