JOB SUMMARY

Provides designated clinical and/or support services to Respiratory department and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Fulfills responsibilities related to a clean work environment, equipment, materials management, and ancillary support to staff.  Proactively supports the efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE*

  • 1 year of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology or Healthcare or 3 years of experience in a hospital environment

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of respiratory clinical equipment, supplies, and maintenance
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to complete tasks independently

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Ensures respiratory supplies are in place and intact in all areas of assigned hospital.          
  2. Ensures IV pumps and other clinical equipment are clean and ready for use.
  3. Maintains an orderly physical environment for assigned areas.
  4. Serves as liaison for Distribution Services, Biomedical Engineering, and Central Equipment.
  5. Participates in maintaining and monitoring the work environment to ensure a continual state of Joint Commission readiness.
  6. Orders and distributes respiratory equipment and supplies for all respiratory clinical areas and tracks all equipment sent out of department for repair.
  7. Prepares equipment for sterile processing, maintains logs, and inventories equipment prior to returning to clinical areas.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
