Dispatcher/Scheduler - PRN (as needed) - Interpreting & Translating Service

Serves as the scheduler/dispatcher for the Interpreting and Translating Services department. Performs clerical/administrative duties to support department operations and efficiency. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No professional certifications required
  • Experience in managing high call volume
  • Experience in healthcare

  • Proficient in healthcare terminology
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting

  1. Serves as the central scheduling resource for on-site Spanish interpretation.
  2. Serves as a central scheduling and monitoring resource for contract interpreter needs.
  3. Works cooperatively with other departments, schedulers/requestors to promote and maintain efficient interpreter services and processes.
  4. Maintains Interpreting Services databases and relevant communication equipment.
  5. Assists department leader with staff scheduling.

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
