Digital Content Writer

JOB SUMMARY

Creates original digital, print and video content for distribution on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s various channels. Executes all aspects of content production, including conceptualization of content or stories including interviewing, drafting, editing and publishing. Will be responsible for developing the storyline, tone and key messaging for content deliverables in accordance with the Children’s brand. Works closely with Content Strategy, Creative, Editorial, Public Relations, and Marketing to produce compelling content and digital assets.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Digital Media or related field

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

Valid Georgia driver’s license

EXPERIENCE*

• Five years of professional writing and editing experience
• Demonstrated experience with marketing principles and how content strategy fits into marketing/public relations campaigns and initiatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Experience in marketing strategy and content development

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

• Ability to tell engaging stories through digital channels yielding measurable results.
• Knowledge of digital platforms, social media, blogs, and creating sharable and viral digital content.
• Must be able to function in a dynamic team environment.
• Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Expert knowledge in content development and digital and print distribution channels.
• Seasoned storyteller able to compel readers and viewers to act.
• Experience with marketing principles and how digital, print and video content fits into Marketing/PR campaigns.
• Passion for Children's and ability to tell engaging stories through print, digital and video channels.
• Must have valid Georgia driver's license and personal transportation (automobile) in good working condition.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

1. Creates and edits digital, print and video content for distribution on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s various communication channels. Executes all aspects of content production, including conceptualization of content in partnership with content strategy lead, interviewing, drafting, editing and assessing content strength.
2. Develops the style, voice, tone and structure of key content deliverables in accordance with the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta brand.
3. Ensures messaging is consistent and cohesive across channels.
4. Develops and maintains content strategy editorial guidelines.
5. Consults on content production best practices amongst departmental teams.
6. Actively uses insights from analytics to determine best practices and applies learnings to content development.
