Development Director, Corporate Annual Giving

The Development Director, Corporate Annul Giving will provide leadership to a group of fundraising professionals and support staff; be personally accountable for an individual major/planned gifts fundraising goal; and, help implement the new strategic plan as it relates to service line fundraising and other major gift initiatives. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Develops annual goals, and implements action plans that maximize corporate support of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
  2. Works closely with and assists the Vice President of Corporate Relations and Stewardship in creating and implementing a robust corporate donor program, engaging potential prospects, and growing donor base
  3. Assists the Vice President of Corporate Relations and Stewardship in working with the Corporate Committee
  4. Builds and maintains an active portfolio of corporate donors
  5. Models professional fundraising excellence to direct reports and peers
  6. Provides leadership and support to direct reports toward achieving their individual goals
  7. Supports and encourages staff professional development
  8. Demonstrates “team player” attitude and positive approach
  9. Maintains up-to-date records on both prospects and donors via Raiser’s Edge
  10. Represents Children’s appropriately at various community functions, networking and nurturing new and existing relationships
  11. Maintains close association and expert knowledge of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree

EXPERIENCE*

  • Demonstrated record of fundraising and management achievement for a minimum period of seven years
  • Campaign experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Background in leading staff
  • Possess strong communication skills, be team-oriented, and have an appreciation for the mission of a pediatric hospital
  • Demonstrate the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities:

    • Personal motivation
    • Listening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • A graduate degree or CFRE credential
  • Experience in healthcare philanthropy and knowledge of Atlanta philanthropy

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
