Provides support in healthcare law primarily in the areas of regulatory law and business and professional contracting with an emphasis on agreements, physician contracting and regulated transactions, employment law, and professional staff issues.


  • Juris Doctor degree


  • Member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia


  • 2 years of experience in healthcare law and/or business


  • Previous experience in legal or clinical


  • Ability to counsel client departments in matters of contract negotiation, drafting and performance, and other areas of law
  • Focus on timeliness and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of business goals
  • Facilitation of lawful resolutions and solutions to business regulatory and professional issues


  1. Provides legal guidance, research, review analysis, and advice regarding all legal issues presented by client departments.
  2. Structures agreements between and among affiliates which support the services and functions of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and affiliated companies.
  3. Adapts contract templates and existing agreements to changes in regulations, laws, and client practices relating to hospital services and professional agreements.
  4. Represents client departments in third-party negotiation teleconferences and in-person meetings.
  5. Updates, maintains, and assists paralegal in presenting the contracting in-service training with the support and assistance of staff and learning systems.
  6. Works with client departments to institute individual contracting responsibility programs unique to the needs of each department.
  7. Facilitates improvement of internal legal systems and processes.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
