Clinical Spine Program Coordinator (RN Required)

JOB SUMMARY

Provides leadership and coordination for the development, implementation, provision, and evaluation of clinical services in area of program specialty, including direct patient care. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare field

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Current Georgia license supporting patient evaluation and/or assessment

EXPERIENCE*

  • Experience in program development, implementation, and delivery 
  • Experience in working with medical and community professionals in the coordination and provision of clinical services and education
  • Experience in pediatric/family-centered care
  • Experience in or the ability to demonstrate supervisory competency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Master’s degree
  • 3 years of clinical experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Access

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate teamwork skills
  • Effective with multiple tasks and individuals representing all levels within and outside the organization
  • Exceptional communication skills in person, in writing, and on the phone
  • Must be able to instruct in classroom setting and compose/deliver presentations
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to periodically travel within five-county Metro Atlanta area
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Plans, coordinates, and provides clinical services, including direct patient care in area of program specialty.
  2. Collaborates with physicians, leaders, and staff within and beyond own department.
  3. Trains and supervises staff functioning within clinical program.
  4. Demonstrates thorough and accurate documentation and reporting of clinical and administrative program activity for division leaders.
  5. Complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  6. Provides patient and parent education in area(s) of clinical service.
  7. Creates, reviews, and revises patient education materials in collaboration with Patient Education and Marketing departments as appropriate.
  8. Identifies and initiates opportunities for program development and expansion of services.
  9. Promotes clinical program in the community through physician education, in-services, marketing, and training tools.
  10. Plans, organizes, and conducts continuing education that meets the needs of community healthcare professionals and positions Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a leader in pediatric education, e.g., conferences, internships, web-based trainings.
  11. Ensures educational programs are conducted in accordance with Georgia Nurses Association or other professional guidelines and obtains credits as appropriate.
  12. Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of clinical services provided.
  13. Analyzes data and processes and develops, recommends, and implements project action plans.
  14. Monitors and maintains database and produces summary reports as required. 
  15. Works with Marketing and Public Relations departments as needed to support educational initiatives.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
