Facilitates lifelong learning and development of activities for interdisciplinary clinicians and positively influences professional growth and role competence/proficiency of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta interdisciplinary clinicians.


  • Bachelor of Science in nursing, allied health, or related field


  • Current GA RN license, current multi-state compact RN license, or current license in related field
  • Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Certification within three years hire

  • BLS Healthcare Provider within 30 days of hire


  • Five years of overall clinical experience, pediatrics preferred


  • Professional specialty nursing certification
  • PALS/PEARS Provider
  • Master’s degree in nursing, allied health, or related field required; prefer Master of Science in nursing
  • One year of experience in professional development and/or education


  • Demonstrated ability to develop educational materials
  • Demonstrated ability in giving presentations and facilitating groups or a team; must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams and with key stakeholders; must demonstrate flexibility and creativity
  • Requires ability to handle multiple tasks; must be able to organize, prioritize, and work independently without direct supervision
  • Proficiency in Windows Office suite


  1. Collects and analyzes data and information related to educational and organizational needs.
  2. Incorporates research, evidence-based practice, and practice-based evidence into educational planning.
  3. Identifies desired outcome(s) that reflect professional role competence, learning, and change.
  4. Uses a systematic evaluation plan that is relevant to program, learners, and stakeholders. Modifies programs based on feedback.
  5. Plans, designs, and delivers educational materials and activities based on learning and literacy needs using adult learning concepts and instructional design principles to achieve desired outcomes while involving learners and key stakeholders.
  6. Implements educational plan(s), incorporating principles of project management and facilitation.
  7. Communicates within Clinical Learning team and with learning manager to ensure consistency and alignment of programs with organizational mission and system strategic plan(s). 
  8. Provides consultation to facilitate change and enhance department/system goals with shared leadership councils, system committees, interdisciplinary teams, leaders, and stakeholders.
  9. Contributes to an environment that fosters empowerment and ongoing professional development for interdisciplinary clinicians.
  10. Promotes academic partnerships to provide optimal learning experiences for students.
  11. Assists in development and implementation of activities designed to meet Joint Commission and other regulatory agency requirements.
  12. Coordinates orientation activities/classes/training to assist with successful onboarding of new clinical professionals.
  13. Supports family-centered care by leading educational projects and programs to meet the needs of patients and families


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
