Career Center Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Lead the creation and implementation of a Children’s Career Center. Engage key stakeholders to ensure that the Center is continuing to provide necessary services to engage and retain Children’s employees. Monitor Center functioning and make necessary adjustments. Provide coaching and development resources to Children’s employees in support of their career exploration. Through use of assessments and coaching conversations, evaluate fitness for roles within Children’s and assist in navigating the recruiting process. Orient employees to development resources which can equip them to be considered for future roles.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Psychology or related field 

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • No certifications required
     

EXPERIENCE*

  • Five to seven years of experience in Learning, Leadership Development or Talent Management 
  • Two to three years leading a team
  • Experience using a coaching framework
  • Demonstrated experience using career interest, behavioral styles or other skills assessments

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification preferred

  • Ability to lead a team of coaches to provide outstanding service
  • Ability to use assessments and interview data to evaluate employee fitness for roles within Children’s

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Review employee intake data and determine initial approach to a discovery conversation and possible assessments.
  2. Engage in coaching conversations to uncover career aspirations, motivation and capability.
  3. Administer appropriate assessments to evaluate skills and interests.
  4. Provide guidance as to roles which match skills, interests and motivation.
  5. Assist in navigating the job application process.
  6. Orient to development resources which support the employee’s career aspirations.
  7. Provide input to career center performance, service and continuous improvement.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
 
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
