CHR Practice Support Specialist- Epic PB Required

JOB SUMMARY

Provides ongoing account management and software maintenance to participating physician practices, including training, issue resolution, optimization, and community practice user group meetings. Participates actively in pre-sale process by demonstrating product offering and answering customer questions. Ensures smooth transitioning and consistent customer support from pre-sales process to implementation team and then from implementation to post-live support.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in non-clinical (e.g., computer science, business) or Associate’s degree in clinical field (experience may be considered in lieu of education)
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
  •  EPIC PB Certification
EXPERIENCE*
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare information systems
  • 1 year of EPIC PB build expeirence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
  • 2+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Epic PB (Physician Billing) and Claims
  • Experience with building PB WQ's and dashboards
  • Experience running PB batch processes
  • Experience in implementing and/or supporting healthcare information systems
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Experience in a healthcare setting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Well-developed and proven organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time management, and customer service skills

  • Strong initiative and ability to establish personal goals and take responsibility for meeting them within defined timelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally known information technology platforms, standards, and software development language(s)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain good working relationships and interact positively and productively with teams and customers across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff and patient care systems users
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  1. Participates in pre-sale activities by maintaining demo environment, providing demos to prospective clients, and answering system functionality questions.  
  2. Assists implementation team in requirements gathering stage by documenting current state, workflows, and other documents as assigned.
  3. Partners with implementation teams to ensure smooth transition back to post-go-live support team, including familiarity with project decisions, content, issues, and outstanding optimization requests.
  4. Participates as required in go-live activities, e.g., being onsite with client, troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and providing training.
  5. Supports client during post-go-live stage by responding to break fix, responding to request and issues, and serving as an account manager.
    • Makes biweekly visits to observe use of software, make recommendations (e.g., tips and tricks), optimize system use without need for build on Children's Healthcare of Atlanta end, recognize needs/monitor trends, and conduct mini training. 
  6. Tracks time spent on each customer and records effort in appropriate Information Systems & Technology tools for resource management.
  7. Partners with leadership to plan, prepare, and conduct community practice user group meetings, including issue discussion, lessons learned, system development updates, functionality voting, communication, and upgrade planning. 
  8. Uses appropriate tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration as defined by Information Systems & Technology policies and procedures.
  9. Participates actively in existing integrated processes to ensure system stability.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
