Business Systems Analyst Intern (Summer 2021)

JOB SUMMARY

At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Research and Graduate Medical Education (GME) are important parts of our mission. We work with academic and scientific institutions throughout Georgia to discover and develop treatments for the most difficult childhood medical conditions and we train more pediatric residents and subspecialty pediatricians than any other hospital in the state. Data collection, analysis and reporting are critical to optimizing the impact of our department. The Business Systems Analyst Intern will develop reports, process maps, and other tools to support the GME growth that begins in the 2021-2022 academic year. The intern will also assist with data collection from our GME program directors using a newly developed REDCap database. This project will: (1) help to improve the enrollment experience for our learners; and, (2) increase overall efficiencies with metrics reporting from the department.

  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in healthcare management, business management, public health, information systems/technology and related fields of study.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist the GME Program Manager with new data collection methods and develop recommendations for streamlining data collection processes
  • Manage updates to the online GME database
  • Contribute to the development of annual GME reports
  • Outcomes will include an original report and presentation to operational leadership about improvements to the GME data collection methods & GME student engagement

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
