Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring a BI Architect to join our permanent team.  The BI Architect takes responsibility for analysis, solution design, and architecture of complete business intelligence lifecycle (data integration, data warehouse, data mart, and information delivery). Identifies components of business intelligence logical architecture strategy and defines their relationship to the mission of the business intelligence organization. Mentors technical team leads and software engineers in business intelligence-related architectural issues and best practices. Leads business intelligence roadmaps.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent technical training and experience
  • No professional certifications required
  • 8 years of experience in business intelligence, including implemented data quality concepts (e.g., master data management, data governance, and data stewardship), enterprise data warehouse environment (e.g., data design, data integration, database architecture, and metadata), translating business needs into long-term information architecture solution, and implementing a self-service business intelligence strategy
  • Experience in computer-aided software engineering tools, e.g., ERwin and ER/Studio
  • NA
  • Understanding of leading technologies in business intelligence conceptual, logical, and physical design principles
  • Strong data analysis and architect skills
  • Data modeling, e.g., denormalization, star schema, snowflake
  • Data architecture, e.g., data warehousing, operational data store, data marts, staging
  • Expertise in an integration tool, e.g., SSIS, Informatica, DataStage, InfoSphere, Talend
  1. Takes responsibility for business intelligence and data warehouse blueprints and integrating systems.
  2. Provides oversight of technical design on development projects to ensure adherence to corporate standards and development best practices.
  3. Evaluates existing and emerging technologies and provides recommendations on integration within systems and best practices.
  4. Translates business needs into long-term information architecture solution.
  5. Defines designs and builds dimensional business intelligence for dimensional conformity.
  6. Evaluates reusability of current data for additional analysis.
  7. Conducts data quality initiative to rid system of old, unused, or duplicate data.
  8. Renews object and data models and metadata reporting to structure data for better management and quicker access.
  9. Manages a working relationship with other Information Systems & Technology managers, collaborating on department and project goals and objectives.
  10. Works with outside vendors as relates to business intelligence technologies.

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
