Assoc Applications Analyst

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring an Associate Applications Analyst to join our permanent team.  The Associate Applications Analyst will be a part of our Business Partnering - inpatient IT team and implements and supports clinical technology applications for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta user community. Advocates for user needs and coordinates support requests within Information Systems & Technology. Delivers clinically and technically sound solutions for customer technology needs. Facilitates communication between Information Systems & Technology and clinical end user patient care departments, vendors, and technical experts.

  • College degree in operationally related business or equivalent experience
  • For Epic team, Epic certification for module(s) specific to hiring team within six weeks of last training class (failure to pass after two attempts is disqualifying)
  • No minimum experience required
  • Experience in implementing or supporting clinical information systems and/or advanced computer skills
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word) with SharePoint experience
  • Proven strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines
  • Creative problem-solver with strong focus on achieving objectives within prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards and organization requirements
  • Flexibility to manage multiple initiatives and shift priorities based on business needs
  1. Develops business partner relationships with service lines, departments, individuals, and coworkers by participating in meetings, performing rounds in their operational areas, and developing an in-depth knowledge of their systems, applications, processes, workflows, and people.
  2. Provides and participates in technical support services (e.g., file maintenance, optimization, break-fixes, updates, implementations, upgrades) for Epic and other applications, develops strong/positive relationships with application vendors, and provides on-call coverage as scheduled.
  3. Works with end users to navigate the project request process and participates in project assessments.
  4. Ensures compliance with Information Systems & Technology, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Joint Commission, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines, policies, procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
  5. Adheres to prescribed service level agreements, change management processes, time reporting, status reporting, and documentation requirements.
  6. Remains current on Epic new version training for all applicable certifications.

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
