Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) - Med/Surg at Egleston (night-shift)

JOB SUMMARY

Works under the direction of the manager to facilitate daily operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, safe patient care, and to promote a healthy work environment at Children's. Will support the Four West Unit at Egleston. This unit has 17 beds and focuses on our general pediatric population, such as pulmonology, GI, genetics, infectious disease and dermatology.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or will complete BSN within 2.5 years of hire. Effective March 1, 2020 BSN will be required as of hire

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment as required by department specifications
  • Certification within 2 years of employment

EXPERIENCE*

  • No minimum experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • 1 year of Clinical Nurse 3-5 level or management/administrative experience in a healthcare setting

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
