Assistant Manager-Respiratory Care-Ground Transport

Facilitates and manages day-to-day operations of the department, including fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are being provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Arts degree* (Registered (RRT) Staff IV (Leaders, Educators, and Managers) in 2006 without a BS/BA may be grandfathered in at the initial rollout into the new roles of Leader, Educator, Assistant Manager and Manager as long as they have 5 years of Pediatric or related specialty experience and obtain a Specialty Certification within 12 months.)
  • Respiratory Care Professional current Georgia license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Related specialty or subspecialty recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • 2 years of experience in management/administrative

  2. With unit leadership, coordinates oversight of ongoing accreditation readiness for Rights and Responsibilities of the Individual (RI), Performance Improvement (PI), Leadership (LD),  Environment of Care (EC), Human Resources (HR), and Information Management (IM) chapters.
  3. Supports compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals related to applicable administrative Joint Commission chapters.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
