Asset Management Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY

The IS&T Asset Management Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting all aspects of the IS&T asset management lifecycle from request to disposal. Key responsibilities include leading process standardization and improvement, team resource management, metrics/value analysis, communication, and change management. In addition, this role will provide leadership to ensure related initiatives are effectively accomplished in partnership with organizational leaders. To provide planning for technology and automation needs, while owning the outcomes and continuous improvement of the process methodology. 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, equivalent field, or equivalent experience 

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

EXPERIENCE*

  • At least five years similar experience in a healthcare or business environment. 
  • 2 years experience in computer operations. 
  • Experience with managing asset management processes. 
  • Experience with leading a team of resources and managing using resource allocation tools and techniques. 
  • Experience effectively presenting information and leading meetings with leadership. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Previous experience as an IT Asset Manager. 
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes. 
  • Experience with ServiceNow’s asset management module. 
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow reporting and dashboard creation capability. 
  • Experience in business process management. 
  • Experience with other configuration management tools such as SCCM, Splunk, Qualys, etc. 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*

  • Knowledge of inventory process and controls including asset tagging and data cleansing. 
  • Having advanced data analytic skills including experience with comparing data sets between multiple sources, ability to use formulas and pivot tables. 
  • Demonstrating time management and organizations skills including ability to prioritize competing demands. 
  • Assessing, prioritizing and applying the simplest process or solution to meet the business need as necessary. 
  • Demonstrating familiarity with hardware asset management vendors and processes. 
  • Organized approach to problem solving and issue resolution; demonstrated ability to balance multiple initiatives, work within time frames, and execute to completion. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  1. Manage the operations of the Information Systems & Technology asset management and inventory management function. 
  2. Provide leaders with asset reporting and process adherence metrics to communicate status. 
  3. Lead periodic audits to ensure process adherence and data quality. 
  4. Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to enact them. 
  5. Deliver process documentation on what is required to effectively manage our hardware assets. 
  6. Collaborate with leaders and team members to develop best practice asset management methodology with stakeholder engagement and input and effectively influence its adoption. 
  7. Manage hardware inventory at stockrooms, ensuring product is asset-controlled and managed. 
  8. Assist with periodic hardware refresh activities, including planning, forecasting, and budgeting. 
  9. Review disposed assets to ensure they are properly reported and documented. 
  10. Manage delivery of training to team members to ensure that appropriate asset management processes are followed. 
  11. Maintains personal professional development. 
  12. Is responsible for all aspects of leading a team, including interviewing, making hiring recommendations, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees. 
  13. Mentors team members to encourage personal and professional growth. 
  14. Encourages ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education. 

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
