JOB SUMMARY

Leads and oversees Respiratory Department clinical process functions, special projects, and process redesign. Manages assigned clinical project teams to ensure quality and patient safety. Leads clinical effectiveness initiatives and coordinates protocol and guideline development and implementations within established timelines. Performs clinical chart reviews and charge reconciliation as needed. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

EDUCATION
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Associates or Bachelor’s degree program. 
  • Bachelor of Science preferred.
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

• Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner  in the State of Georgia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of employment as required by department
• AARC member

EXPERIENCE*

• 5 years of pediatric clinical experience
• Experience using REDCap, Excel, Access data entry and spreadsheet development.
• Experience in development, approval, and implementation of clinical guidelines, best practice recommendations, and/or protocols.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in pediatrics
• Experience with HAC projects, audits, data coordination
• Charge entry and charge reconciliation experience
• Experience using REDCap data entry and reports and Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access) pivot table data entry and spreadsheet development.
• NBRC specialty credential

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
 
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
