The Children's Employee Promise
The Children’s Employee Promise is the commitment we make to our employees to be the best choice for their career. At Children’s, we understand that to excel professionally, you need to be taken care of personally and we promise to offer an environment and experience that delivers on both. We developed our promise based on input from those who make our organization so great—our people. The Employee Promise is our commitment to deliver:
- Career I Want – From a clear career path, to promotion, to the option to try something new, we want to help employees succeed.
- Life I Live – We care about employees as people and professionals, and offer programs and resources that can make your life a little easier.
- Work I Love – By simplifying tasks, respecting special skills and offering encouragement, we aim to free up employees’ time, so they can focus on the work they love.
- Difference I Make – Employees choose to work at Children’s because they believe in our mission, and every role contributes to making a difference for the kids.
By extension, The Employee Promise is also a promise to our patients and families to attract, retain and surround them with the very best.
The Employee Promise is brought to life every day by our programs and our leadership, but also the very people it serves in how we live out our Children’s Values every day.
Values
- Care about people
- Passionate about kids
- Dedicated to better
Work Life Success
There’s more to life than work. We understand that employees need resources to help manage their life and take care of the people who matter the most. To make life a little easier, we offer a variety of family and dependent care assistance and programs, along with workplace banking, commute alternatives and discounts for legal services and supplemental insurance. The Children’s Concierge acts as a personal assistant and can take care of everything—from planning vacations to going grocery shopping. We also believe the health of our employees comes first, so we take wellness to heart. Our Strong4Life program is a wellness effort that offers a broad range of personalized options—providing the structure and support to help employees set and achieve health and wellness goals.
Recognition
Children’s recognizes the dedication of our employees in a variety of ways. Our Hope and Will Awards celebrate employees for representing the values of Children’s. The DAISY Award honors extraordinary nurses. Employees can send celebratory e-cards to co-workers through our online reward program, Celebrations. Managers may also use the program to award points, which are redeemable for exciting gifts. We also host several special events each fall to honor employees celebrating a milestone service anniversary. Children’s has many other events and celebrations throughout the year as a thank you to our dedicated employees.
Health Benefits
Our employees’ health is as important to us as the health of the patients we serve. The Children’s benefits package offers choice and flexibility for health, vision and dental coverage, along with life insurance plans. We also offer Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts to cover certain health, dental and vision costs with pre-tax dollars.
Compensation
When you’re among the best in your field, we know you can work practically anywhere you want. But, wherever you are in your career, we want you to choose Children’s. We believe each employee contributes to our success, and we want to make sure our employees’ pay is fair and competitive.
Retirement
We want our employees to enjoy a long and fulfilling career at Children’s, and we want them to keep an eye on their future, too. Children’s offers three retirement plans: the 401(a) Growth Plan, 403(b) Share Plan and Roth 403(b).
Time Off
We believe that to take care of our kids, employees have to take care of themselves. That includes taking time off. Children’s observes several holidays, offers personal days and generous paid time off each year, so employees can take their well-earned vacations. We also offer short- and long-term disability plans, and in addition to Family and Medical Leave Act time, Children’s grants parental, personal and bereavement leave.
